In light of the capture of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro by U.S. forces, French President Emmanuel Macron called for a peaceful and democratic transfer of power, urging the involvement of opposition politician Edmundo González, while Spain's Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez warned against foreign intervention in Venezuela.
