Where are the more than 86,200 illegal short-term rentals: 74% are concentrated in four coastal communities

In Spain, one in five short-term rentals is illegal, with the Ministry of Housing identifying over 86,200 tourist and temporary flats that lack the necessary rental registration since July, out of which 20.9% of applications have been rejected and must be removed from online platforms like Airbnb or Booking.
